All your servers hosted by M247 Europe are very unreliable. They lose connections all the time, your own IP checking resource shows location as undefined, Romania for so many locations from M247(like what!!), with highest pings and many websites just show that connection is not secure (this has happened so many times with Singapore Laksa, which is also hosted by M247 Europe), Tokyo Wabi Sabi loses connection after 10-20 minutes. The ones with Datacamps are the best.
This is the best vpn I have used by far, it’s fast even on the free plan and with all network bypassing features on (junk packets stealth protocol alternate routing...) it’s got so many privacy controls and it’s the only vpn which will work on my restrictive school network. They also claim to have a no-logging policy and unlike a lot of VPNs I trust them 100% on this. Also the ui is AMAZING I love the style ROBERT is free and seamless (it’s their specialty blocker where you can pick which things to block: if I remember correctly it’s ads, trackers, malware, social networks, other VPNs, p***, clickbait, gambling, and crypto) the 4 problems I have with it is that you can get only up to 16gb without promo codes but you will get 2 default +8 for email verification +5 for a post on x/twitter and +1 for a referral code. 2. I don’t like how all the advanced features like ROBERTS website specific blocking or the guide/support chatbot are on the website instead of the app 3. Theirs no way to order server locations by free only and 4. The notifications just straight up don’t work. I don’t know why I have notifications turned on. But other than those pretty minor details just download it.
the only one thing i was want to bringing my account of tiktok back because been before or five gsw don not voice was have been the same year 9th your father and the same name name was the same name was the same name was a few few years later became a new zealand on his eyes and a little bit more races and the same name time of his head and a new york times the same time of his eyes and a new zealand in his eyes on a few years later became keep her to be the same united kingdom nations of a new
Windscribe used to be my go to... until a couple years ago. Near that Great Wall, none of the protocols sticks. But we get connections thru other vpns. I used that other vpn back in the day, until it was hijacked by some religious zealots. It got blocked and always found a way to go around those blocks. Maybe the techies should have a look into this?
Windscribe VPN Review (2025) Windscribe is a popular VPN service known for its strong security features, generous free plan, and user-friendly interface. Here’s a breakdown of its pros and cons: Pros: ✅ Strong Security & Privacy: Uses AES-256 encryption, a no-logs policy, and features like a kill switch and ad blocker. ✅ Generous Free Plan: Offers 10GB of free data per month (if you verify your email). ✅ Good Speeds & Performance: Decent speeds for browsing and streaming.
A very generous free tier, enough locations for me. Also Garry, their chatbot, actually helps out, I'm very impressed how it managed to help me figure out a weird connection problem i was having with UDP and Wireguard. TL;DR of that was my wifi causes UDP to get messed up before the app could connect, so anything TCP based or IKEv2 was the recommended workaround. Good stuff, Windscribe devs.
Upd.
Network name display and VPN notification issues: On Redmi Note 8 Pro (Android 11), Windscribe shows “Verizon Wireless” instead of IR-MCI or Irancell, and “Unknown Network” on Wi-Fi. On Galaxy A17 (Android 15), it keeps showing IR-MCI/MCI after switching to Irancell, and also shows “Unknown Network” on Wi-Fi. On Redmi, tapping Disconnect ends the VPN, but the notification remains until the app is closed or force-stopped. Clearing cache and granting location permission did not help. Please fix.
Iran is moving toward a closed national intranet with strict whitelists and domestic-only apps. Google services are blocked, and standard VPNs fail. We need advanced anti-censorship tools comparable to HTTP Injector, NetMod, NPV, and SlipNet: SNI/IP spoofing, domain fronting, host injection, TCP splitting/TLS fragmentation, resumption padding, encapsulated SSH/TLS tunneling, Hysteria2, TUIC, Shadowsocks, WebSockets, DNSTT, KCP/raw sockets. Please prevent forced connection drops.
I've had windscribe VPN for a few years now. I really just starting taking advantage of how great a VPN it is. I had an issue getting it going. Got on line with support and they were soooo patient throughout the whole process. It's so easy to use once you get started. Works fantastic. For me the best VPN out here. Worth ever penny. I most definitely recommend it. Easy to use.
Just had to use Gary to help solve my no connect issue. Took a bit but it was resolved. Been using Winscribe for 10 years now and have just started having connectivity.issues. Overall though, I am happy with Winscribe. I was an early adiopter and have the lifetime subscription, so this makes me happy.
I write this email to inform you that your UAE servers are buggy no matter what protocol or port I use. Including using your streaming stealth detection options. Providing Garry to reolve ALL issues is not the solution. Wven after i generate a "human" help request, Garry intercepts it because it contains key words like buffer ... and hence never makes it to a human. To bypass garry, i have sent my concerns to your helpdesk email and support email, but it is never responded to. Not Good!!
I’ll be honest, this app is amazing when it comes to using vpn to watch Netflix shows outside of USA and i would recommend to people who need a few free vpns, however there’s major cons about this app that i need to address about and should be fixed. ~~Connection issues~~ - this is one the major issues with Windscribe, connecting to wifi with the vpn on is difficult and only works (sometimes) with streaming services and a few social media apps, but recently the connection has been disconnecting and not connecting to anything at all(to mention i have good wifi and usually connect to anything). ~~ 2FA login/automatically set it up for me~~ - i know this isn’t a major issue but i feel like i should mention this. If you have 2FA login on (meaning if they ask you for a 2FA verification code) and you don’t not have Pro or paid anything, you CANNOT login into your account at all!! The only issue that can fix this is to pay for the services they offer you + you cannot make a new account on your device at all because they do NOT allow it and it can lead to restrictions, which means if your already logged in on one devices you cannot login in to another one ( which is actually pretty frustrating ). These issues at least needs to be fixed because im aware i did not set up any 2FA verification and won’t allow me to disable it and causes me frustration and annoyance. Im not sure why this feature is not free to ones who don’t want to waste money. The “Garry” support helped me out me out bit and made me realize the root of the issues so good job for good support. ~~Another side note the “email optional” feature is not optional if on computer and not on mobile so its required if you want to make a new account (on a different device) ~~To summarize this review up this app is great if you want to use it to watch shows without pay and you can use some vpn, however it has connection issues + wanted to login on a another device is not possible (if you pay). Windscribe your app is great but these issues are affecting the experience of this app, & making users pay for subscriptions on this app. Please fix these issues
I bought a license with Windscribe about 8 or 9 years ago. I have used it extensively and it is an excellent service. In fact, the only problem I’ve had was when I set up my router to connect directly to Windscribe, left it connected and forgot about it. Over the next six? months or so I had trouble buying tickets online and noticed when I had to connect to Windscribe using a desktop client, I had to connect using TCP. Streaming services would occasionally get weird and not let me log in. When I thought my ISP had been sold (speed tests showed an ISP I had never heard of), I checked some settings and realized what I’d done and turned the VPN off on the router and everything worked normally. My point of the story is: I forgot I was piping ALL my traffic through a VPN b/c it was so fast! (And even the double tunnel worked OK, but not recommended)
А сейчас , при попытке его открыть , вообще сбрасывает открытие, пишет : "WSNet: All fallback domains have failed".
So I had a $10/year r/Windscribe deal, for life, as they put it.
Problem is, it was linked to a Paypal account that I used when I was studying abroad. Now that I'm back, the paypal account is dead and does not accept my country's issued card.
So I went to their support, and asked them if they could change my payment method. I was told it can't be switched directly, instead, cancel and email us and we will issue you with a voucher to get you back on the same deal with your new payment method
So, innocent as I am, I did. Then emailed them. Ghost town.
Their chat bot 'Garry' refused to raise a ticket, telling me i'd be wasting my time trying to get them on it because that deal no longer exists.
I reached out to them as a last resort on Discord, where I got this reply:
'Unfortunately the support agent that responded to you at that time was incorrect. Sorry.'
They literally scammed me out of my deal because it was too good.
Their service is good, but word of advice, their support sucks donkey butt.
They shut down the email tickets, their discord is a mess, and their chatbot straight up tells you NO, i will not raise a ticket.
So despite the good service, if you ever face an issue, and you get a promise by their support, think twice. Their word means nothing.
Email support is gone, that's official, not guess work. So you're stuck with a chatbot.
Better options out there. Add an extra $5 or $10 a year and save yourself the drama in case you face an issuer.
Edit: Now they blocked my free account, and they say #the plan was clear, cancel = gone#. Disregarding completely the promise made by their customer support agent by an email ticket. In fact he is the one who told me to cancel! A company that does not honor that shouldn't get anything other than being called out for it.
They do not hold their promise.
Go get a coupon for Surfshark 3 year sub, it'll end up $15/year instead of all of this scamming.
Customer support could have easily said if you cancel = plan gone. But instead, he literally told me to cancel. Like what?
It's working but with time they change their plan (I got a 20go lifetime free but now it's like 10go), before you can get many countries for free (with low connection, but many countries) but you got only few countries. Disappointing.
I selected a specific location (Moscow) and expected the VPN to stay on that server. Instead the app kept switching my IP automatically in the background — apparently some "auto" mode that randomly picks other servers. I could not find any way to turn this off.
Because of these silent IP changes I got banned from an important service for "suspicious activity" (constant IP switching). I paid for this VPN specifically to keep one stable Russian IP, and it did the opposite without my consent.
If a user manually picks a server, the app must stay on it. Forcing background IP rotation with no option to disable it is a serious flaw. 1 star.
I downloaded Windscribe to try before renewing my ProtonVPN subscription because it was identified as a very good VPN.
Sadly I couldn’t evaluate it because upon installation I was greeted with an upgrade paywall with a message that my free usage exhausted and I needed to wait until May 9 — which is odd because it is May 9th. This was odd as I’ve never used Windscribe before, but decided to wait a few hours and check again.
Well 3 hours later I reloaded the app and was greeted with a message informing me that my registration was flagged as suspicious preventing me from accessing Windscribe’s free version, but I could upgrade to Pro to use the app.
This is very strange as I’ve never used Windscribe. The only issue I can think of is that I subscribed using Apple authentication and selected the Apple relay option which hides my email — which I do with every free subscription as a precaution to prevent my data being sold. If Windscribe doesn’t work with that option it shouldn’t be offered as a signup option.
This is unfortunate as I was indeed willing to consider Windscribe but they have elected to disqualify themselves.
Update: Paid subscriber. Five devices. Three iPads. Two Android phones. Have sent debug logs. Fingers crossed, coz this now is SUPER annoying!
I keep getting this message on every single device lately, you have reached the limit of your Wireguard keys, do you want to delete your oldest key?”
I mean, why do they keep asking me this stupid question on every single device?
Why not just do it on my behalf, whatever the heck it is, delete the damn key if that’s what you wanna do, and call it a day, and more importantly stop bugging me every single time asking to delete a key!! Just do it, FFS!!!
I am very new to the Internet and Windscribe is the best Browser extension, Android App and Desktop Application that someone like me can have. It protects me from doing stupid things, like downloading malware, and it makes it harder for hackers to hack me. It also protects my very precious data, like my home address, from people who do not need to see that.
There is however a problem. I am receiving very curious e-mails from the windscribe team. They are admitting they are independent, they didn't have a good business plan, and probably never will, and they admit they had to go to court. They won it, but still. I am concerned this company is runned by the minions, it just doesn't look like a real company that is owned by normal greedy people, or they have mental issues, like i mean they are doing this for years now, they are talking about fuchsia friday like there is no tomorrow, or other streaming titles. I even saw them advising not to use stickers for real currency, this is getting out of hand.
There is another issue, i have to mention this. They have a financial advisor who doesn't have a university degree, or actually, he doesn't have a degree at all. He told them they have to sell their product below its real value, insane! And they do it all the time, fuchsia day? Sale! Canamurica Day? Sale! New month? Sale! 10 years keeping this up? Sale!
So my advice would be, take it before they find out they are getting underpaid, do it before its to late and you have lost your innocence, your freedom of choice, your precious stored age, gender, preferences, marriage situation, location and so much more and have to pay for it. With real money, not only with stickers, and blood.. wait that is another review. I hope you take my advice and stay save.
This provider has many advantages. But I want to focus on what I consider to be the most important one, which perfectly characterizes this provider as a whole.
I live in Russia, so if you haven't heard about the state of the internet there, I'll explain. The war on VPNs has been going on for years, hundreds of billions of rubles have been invested in censorship systems, and we've already surpassed China and are approaching North Korea in terms of blocking. Every byte passes through government DPI, everything you transmit and receive from the internet is stored for three years for analysis, the Russian DNS revokes addresses of undesirable websites, and Russian apps begin spying on you directly on your devices, reporting installed VPN clients and their exit IPs for subsequent blocking.
I've been using Windscribe for about nine years, since the beginning of all this. With each new wave of blocking, the internet suffered, and the government didn't consider the collateral damage. Banks and communications channels were hit, businesses lost profits, and users lost contact with loved ones. Windscribe was blocked, but it rose again, continually finding ways to circumvent new, increasingly sophisticated blocking methods. And it continues to do so to this day. It's one of the few VPN providers that has invested so much effort in the fight for freedom of speech.
[2026.04.01]: I’m here because of how amazing this product is only because of its reward system; Just like the house I built which I also happened to be born in, I’ve been earning FuttBux long before I was born in 1969, and with the promises from NAO, or more commonly known as the Shaf’t down over at the IT department, and Geoff Pesos, the rightful heir of the wealthy Mexican giraffe philantropist who invented the package peanut bubblegum-wrap, i’ve been earning 1 FB for every 10 I earned and spent without even worrying, considering, or even thinking about the app as it works in the background, actively, maybe... it’s all automatic, you literally don’t have to do anything and ever since I upgraded from Pro to Upgraded Pro, I’ve been earning 10 FB for every 100 I earn and spend - highly recommend to all, friendly for all ages, from -0.8 years to 123 years,... 2 thumbs and 3 halluces way up
Chroma eklenen her vpn servisi bunu yapıyor! Ya geri zekalılar, ya da umurlarında değiliz!
It's not just this one, they're all absolutely terrible. What kind of idiocy is it that they tell someone who needs a VPN to sign up first?! First, get it working, solve the problem, then tell them to sign up! Every VPN service added to Chroma does this! Either they're idiots, or they don't care about us!
Been using Windscribe for over a year now and it has never dissappointed. I was originally looking for a way to block in-app and website ads and used AdGuard for about a year, but eventually it just stopped working - ads would show through or at least take up screenspace despite links not working, and website hidden popups never went away. Even using their DNS address(es) didn't work. Aside from Adguard, I've used a couple other of the "big name" VPN's like Surfshark (similar issues to adguard) and Norton (safety issues) and just couldn't justify the value of the subscriptions.
Using Windscribe, it does pretty much everything I'd expect a VPN to be capable of, and on top of that it blocks ads across any website I've visited with the DNS filter. All that for just nine bucks a month is pretty killer. I think Windscribe has to be one of the most - if not *the* most consumer friendly VPN services out there, and with both mobile and desktop applications it's incredibly convenient.
Pros: I attempted to post an "X" post about my delightfully satisfying experience with the AI bot, Garry 2.0 who skillfully, and humorously managed to summarize my VPN issue that seemed to keep my ISP stuck at reading my own server site. Garry solved it in just under 12 minutes in what took a painfully arduous 70-80 minute marathon of Grumpy Grok's ("X"'s) AI bot guidance; DOS command after DOS command Grok spouted to get under the hood to repair whatever ailed me, but never getting to the point of my issue. Grumpy Grok only got more irritated and terse in the guidance, if an AI can do such a thing? The key of it all is Windscribe has a personable AI that efficiently LISTENS, SOLVES, and gets you on your way...all the while leaving you with at least a smile on your face. Nothing is stupid as Garry is most of all patient and even lets you tease him...the first time.
Cons: As described. You may need Garry 2.0 to coach you at the outset as you tweak your settings to not "appear like a VPN." As for your having to lateral to a living human, think again. Garry 2.0 will promise you he's dispatched a work ticket to have humans solve issues beyond his capability, but days later he knows nothing about the conversation despite detailed screenshots that I ALWAYS take. Oh, that "TWEET 4 DATA" offer of 5 GB of free VPN service after posting a tweet mentioning "@Windscribe," or, INSTEAD, at Windscribe's offer, posting an "unprompted Trustpilot" review is B-O-G-U-S... and yes, they call you a "douche [if you]...delete the post after." So, here it is! Curiously, Garry 2.0 sarcastically laughed off the Trustpilot post option as merely for customers to have a way to release frustration after their Twitter denial, because Windscribe's "either/or" redirect to Trustpilot DID NOT CREDIT under the TWEET program; please have YOUR international lawyer read the now internet-archived, "TWEET 4 DATA" webpage, because mine said that's not how their "either/or" offer reads. Hopefully, Trustpilot will remove the multiple "unprompted review" markings on Windscribe's account that originated in this manner.
Overall: Garry 2.0 is an excellent resource for single solution needs, but if a human is needed to, what Garry 2.0 calls it, "look under the hood," the true quality of the service is seen: NONE (Really, the email from the human work ticket is just as sarcastic as Garry 2.0, "fix it yourself.") Now that I think about that original Twitter (X) post...maybe my poignant post on "X" promoting Garry 2.0 over Grok was taken "personally"? Overall grade: Garry... "2.0"
I’ve been using Windscribe for two years with overall satisfaction, but for the past few months the Firefox plugin has been crashing constantly. Each time it happens, the plugin needs to be restarted and doesn’t remember the settings, which means you have to configure everything again. On top of that, reconnecting often requires several attempts because of the awful CAPTCHA.
So now it’s time to look for another good VPN — unfortunately, it won’t be Windscribe.
I’ve never actually used the service but got billed Jan 1 for the year as a renewal. I immediately emailed them and said I didn’t want the service. They refused to refund me. I also informed I’d payed for the service the previous year. $150 for a service I never used.
Got no emails, no texts, no anything about the upcoming renewal. Not even sure how I subscribed as there was no account on file.
I was blown away they wouldn’t refund me after asking on the day I was charged.
No business should function like this.
Too many options to choose this sleezy company.
I have been a user for the past 5 years and tried many other VPN's and came back to Windscribe. It is simple to use, if you need help their GARRY automated assistant will help you whenever. It has great settings to keep you private, anonymous blocks malware and very easy to use. If you use the Client and the Extension you become invisible on the World Wide WEB. Great price too only 69$ per year. Once configured it blocks all the nasty things out there. Having worked in IT for over 30 years it is Simply the Best in VPN software, best protection, best privacy and cheap for all that it does! A Solid App.
This extension is not intuative to use. It looks like you have to "log-in" to use it. And then what? I never was sure if it was working. And why all the bother. I just want something easy to configure, that connects when my browser starts, and not have to create some account with a password out there on the Wild, Wild Web somewhere.
No thanks! I will not be using this one.
I was introduced to WindScribe by my nephew, Matt (thanks Matt)back in February 2025 and I must say, here and now, that it's probably one of the best, no it IS the best decision I have ever made when it comes to software/an app!
Gone are those nasty inflated priced VPNs like Nord or Proton as you can get virtually the same thing (if not better, IMHO) for as little as $3/month, yes THREE DOLLARS a month.
What do you get for this? Well, it's a little hard to understand, but basically you choose 2 geographical locations (countries) where you want your VPN "server" to be based ($2, $1 for each location), receive UNLIMITED DATA ($1) which equates to $3/month.
But don't stop there, you can add additional geographical locations for an extra $1 per location so enhancing your choices of where you wish to connect.
Their software is top notch and they also offer an extension for Chrome (although, from my own experience, it's not wise to run both the standalone software AND extension at the same time).
Both are fully customizable with your choice of location (from the ones you selected when enrolling), VPN protocol (WireGuard, IKe2, UDP, TCP, Stealth or WStunnel), choosing your preferred port (default is 443) and more.
Don't worry if you're confused by all this as they have an excellent, and I do mean excellent, AI customer service bot called Garry. I have never had cause to trust AI bots before, but I tell you, even though I've thrown the most awkward of questions at him, sometimes not grammatically correct either, he has always responded in an easy to understand way. And if he answers what you believe to be incorrect, or he doesn't answer giving you enough information (although he tends to ask if you want him to go into more detail, or show you the next steps blah, blah, blah), you can always make an adjustment to what or how you asked the question originally and he will explain in a more layman's terms. If he realises he's misunderstood you, he will correct himself and give you a more accurate response.
And there's none of this "Can you tell me your first name" rubbish once you have an account and logged in; in fact he'll know about what account plan you're on too with which locations.
Anyway, enough of my bumbling on. Why not go ahead and check it out for yourself; the link is at the top of the page.
Would I recommend this product? Abso-bloody-lutely! 50 million stars!
Downloaded this app a while back for Twitter and understood that I get a limited monthly amount (since I’m doing the free option), then noticed that my amount didn’t reset like the month before it (which showed when it would reset) after the month so deleted it (plus Twitter seemed to be fine). Redownloaded it again a few months afterwards and my progress hasn’t reset at all. The description says the app will reset your monthly amount but the app doesn’t specify a date for when it resets. Is this option not available now?
works great, super easy to use and has an amazing look to it. extremely affordable!!!! and it's amazing, I can get on anything and everything that used to be blocked form school WiFi and country restrictions.....not anymore, everything is unblocked. and if your brand new to windscribe, it explains everything to you and how to use windscribe when you install it. also you can truly customize everything, from how much you pay and how many country's you want and you also get to customize; what and who gets to track you, I recommend putting all the switches to NO ONE which means "BLOCKED" from following and seeing you and what your doing. you also get to customize the vpns and among multiple other things that other vpn's and proxy ad blockers don't allow you to. you can allow or deny access to ads, news, malware, dangerous sites, NSFW sites and among multiple other things. this is hands down 5 stars, there is literately nothing better. but of course there might be a few snags here and there and connection issues in the future, but everyone/ every app or extension deals with that, but it always gets fixed and you can always work your way around it.
Pro subscriber for over a year now and the Chrome extension still has this annoying pop-up bug that says "The proxy https://xx-xxx.totallyacdn.com requires a username and password." Sign in pop-up when Auto-Connect is enabled during browser startup even when already signed in with my Windscribe account.
Windscribe VPN: An Honest Review (2025)
Windscribe is a polarizing VPN provider—it's highly customizable, transparent, and offers one of the best free plans available, but it often lacks the polish and simplicity of its top-tier competitors. Here is a breakdown of its strengths and weaknesses.
The Good: Why Windscribe Stands Out
1. Best-in-Class Free Plan: Windscribe's free tier is exceptionally generous. Users can get up to 10GB of data per month (by confirming an email address) across 10 countries, with the same core security features as the paid version. This makes it perfect for casual use, testing the service, or light browsing.
2. R.O.B.E.R.T. (Customizable Blocking Tool): This is Windscribe's powerhouse feature. R.O.B.E.R.T. is a highly effective, customizable, DNS-level filter that blocks ads, malware, trackers, social media, and even categories like clickbait or gambling. It significantly enhances privacy and speeds up browsing.
3. Transparency and Security: Windscribe has undergone recent independent security audits that verify its privacy claims, including a strict, audited no-logs policy. Furthermore, its infrastructure uses RAM-disk servers, meaning no user data is written to hard drives. The company is also refreshingly transparent about its business practices.
4. Flexible Pricing: Beyond the standard Pro plan, Windscribe offers a unique "Build-a-Plan" option, allowing users to select individual VPN locations for $1 each (with a $3 minimum purchase) and add unlimited data for another dollar. This is great for users who only need access to a few specific countries.
5. Unlimited Connections: Both the free and paid plans allow for unlimited simultaneous device connections, which is a significant value proposition compared to most competitors.
The Not-So-Good: Where Windscribe Falls Short
1. Inconsistent Speeds: While WireGuard speeds can be excellent on nearby servers, performance can be inconsistent, especially across long distances or on less-optimized servers. It's fast enough for HD streaming, but it doesn't consistently beat the industry's absolute speed leaders.
2. App Clunkiness and UI: For new or casual users, the desktop and mobile applications can feel cluttered and unintuitive. The interface, while feature-rich, is often described as "clunky" and less polished than competitors, with many advanced settings hidden in menus.
3. Limited Customer Support: Windscribe does not offer 24/7 live human chat support. While its AI chatbot, Garry, is reportedly very helpful, complicated issues still require submitting a support ticket and waiting for a response, which can be a drawback for time-sensitive problems.
4. Jurisdiction (Five Eyes): Windscribe is based in Canada, a member of the Five Eyes intelligence-sharing alliance. Although the company argues strongly against this being an issue due to their zero-log policy and RAM-disk servers, some privacy-conscious users may prefer a VPN based outside of the 5/9/14 Eyes jurisdictions.
Verdict
Windscribe is an excellent choice for two types of users: the budget-conscious user who needs the best possible free VPN, and the advanced user who appreciates deep customization, powerful security features (like R.O.B.E.R.T.), and transparency.
If you prioritize a super-slick, simple interface and maximum consistency in speed above all else, other top-tier VPNs might be a better fit. But if you value features, flexibility, and a commitment to user privacy (backed by audits), Windscribe is easily one of the most reliable and feature-packed options available.
By far the best performance, most reliable and cheapest VPN service out there. Provides consistent connection in China and much lower impact on connection speeds when compared to VPNs such as ProtonVPN Pro. Also provides very stable access to region locked content that other VPNs sometimes fail to do. All of this offered at a fraction of the price of other similar or worse performing VPNs makes it a no-brainer, THE best choice for a VPN as of late 2025.
While Windscribe don't read or respond to support emails, they clearly do spend much time abusing and insulting customers on TrustPilot.
I notice they are neither providing the service nor providing a refund. Simply criminals and untrustworthy. I don't buy that their involvement in Russia is innocent.
Account is now ( hopefully! ) deleted. $25 lost forever but I guess live and learn.
The service ( Russian links excepted ) was fine but they turn abusive if you dare leave them.
I no more trust them than I would trust Vladimir Putin ( Friend of theirs? )
I've been with SurfShark for 6 months and a breath of fresh air and decent human beings in comparison to WindRage and co. Also no Google CAPTCHA all the time!
***
I remember now why I stopped using their service some time ago. I use Little Snitch app on the MacOS and discovered their VPN was passing data to servers in Russia, even when based in the UK and connected to UK VPN servers. I can't say what data but no other VPN passes data to Russia.
So I cancelled the service - it had some months to run but I just wrote off the money.
That they didn't cancel the PayPal automatic payment at the time and now refuse to refund it, is to me criminal.
Would you trust criminals who pass data to Russia and steal your money?
I certainly don't!
I used to like their jokes but the joke is on me this time.
*** Update ***
Wow I'm really shocked by Windscribe's reply.
I cancelled via their admin system quite some time ago.
Indeed although they billed me on the 10th Oct 2025 for the Pro service, they sent an email on the 11th Oct 2025 saying:
"Looks like your Pro account has expired. I hope this doesn't mean we're breaking up, because we really like you and we will be sad for a while if you leave us."
So clearly they had been informed and were well aware.
The issue is while I cancelled it via their admin, they didn't do their bit and cancel the PayPal automatic payment they'd set up. That went out on the 10th Oct 2025 much to my surprise.
They just need to refund the payment for a service they are not providing and reply to my email.
I guess I have to take the hit and write off the $24 charged in error.
But wow - talk about hostile and terrible customer service!
Avoid like the plague!
*** Original Review ***
I decided some time ago to cancel due to issues with the VPN - in particular it constantly got blocked by Google as being anonymous.
I set auto renew to off and thought nothing more of it.
Then many months later they charged me for renewal!
Then they sent me an email saying my service was now stopped as I'd set to not auto renew and that any emails to them would take a long time to get replied to.
And so its proven to be - I emailed about the incorrect payment but days later heard nothing back.
Still waiting for a reply which I imagine now I'm a paying free customer will take weeks. Then weeks to refund.
Pretty good app and service when it works. I’m a 5 year user of Windscribe. Overall it is pretty decent.
Good luck talking to anything on your local network when running the vpn on your phone. They tell you it won’t be a problem if you read through the help pages, but it has never worked correctly for me. I can see devices, then I can’t.
There are no work arounds other than disabling and enabling when needing to talk to local devices.
Edit: their response says it all. Rather than take accountability or deal with issues in a professional manner, they make ludicrous vile statements about others' mental health and parenting, "folks"? They did my work for me by showing the kind of small little people they are, and the unprofessional unethical business they are running. Really pathetic. At least they show themselves for who they are.
Update: They can't even speak or write properly. "Smooth brain"? Lol. Learn English. Small, low people. Psychopath vibes too. They lie pathologically, refuse to provide evidence to support what they're saying, shift blame, and are incapable of dealing in facts. Again proves how unethical their practices are. Quite comical, "mickey mouse" small time antics. What a joke. Not worth the time LOL. Enjoy reading all the negative reviews online. They validate everything I've said.
There is a plethora of negative information about this joke of a VPN service provider. For further information on the problems with their so-called policies, questionable practices and poor service, there are tons of negative reviews online about them. I also have photo evidence of my case, including from PayPal. Feel free to contact me and I can provide it to you, showing the way they tried to scam me and charge me for something I didn't even get. Funny how PayPal found in my favor within an hour of me opening the claim. Windscribe is just annoyed that they didn't get away with it this time. They are rip off artists and con artists. There are multiple reviews online, just the tip of the iceberg, which corroborate what I am saying about windscribe: check out the sites, TheBestVPN, AlwaysVPN, Tom Sparks Reviews on YouTube, and PrivacyCanada.
Do yourself a favor and go to any other provider. It's not worth it. Windscribe service is garbage and their customer service is abusive. I've also reported them to two National organizations who fight business fraud.
And they continue to lie in their preposterous response here. If you read their so-called policy more closely, if you don't cancel 7 days before your subscription ends, they will make you pay for the full year in advance, for the upcoming year, and refuse a refund for the upcoming year, even if you close your account. Actually, if you close your account, they specifically tell you they won't give you a refund ever. I have all of this in emails. Feel free to contact me and I'm happy to share.
I used their service for many years and found it increasingly unreliable. I had concerns about the security of my info after learning of flaws in their program and poor practices.
I switched to a much better competitor. I had paid for an annual subscription with windscribe, but stopped using it months before renewal. Months later, when it was time to renew, I canceled the service and they refused to honor the cancellation. They tried to charge me for a full year in advance even though I had canceled before the new subscription commenced.
They treated me like dirt. They have a really rude bot named Garry who fights with you before connecting you to a real person. Fortunately, I got my money back after opening a case with PayPal, who found in my favor right away. Subsequently, windscribe kept trying to say that I had to pay for the service in advance and were mindlessly unaware that I had already opened a case with PayPal and that PayPal had refunded me the money.
They even tried to claim that they had sent me an item with a tracking number in order to try to get PayPal to charge me again for a service I had canceled in advance of the renewal date. There's no tracking number and no item for virtual subscription. They rant about their policy and that nothing can be done in order to charge unsuspecting customers in advance for a full year of service, even when it has been canceled.
This so-called policy is fraudulent and attempts to steal money from consumers by automatically renewing and refusing to refund even when the customer cancels on time. Avoid at all costs.
I'm doing a capcha (the puzzle) and it says it's Invalid security token or captcha solution. I don't know what it wants, but it ain't a human solution, maybe a robot could do it better. Can't sign up or login.... After 5 minutes: I figured it out, even though you can drag a puzzle or an arrow before, only dragging a puzzle with your mouse will work, don't touch the arrow below, which can do the same thing. Technology is not their strength. Now I'm 'rate limited' ... which means I tried their human unfriendly capcha too many times, I guess.
The Montreal Canadiens radio station online changed their policy over the summer. After years of listening to Martin McGuire & Dany Dubé, they are no longer available outside Canada. Another VPN would let me "be" in Montreal only in their paid version. Windscribe solved the problem. FOR FREE! Not only does it let me into Cogeco Media on my Windows desktop but it also lets me into the Cogeco Media app on my Android phone. I call this wins on back to back nights. GO HABS GO!!!
In addition, I spent several hours -- yes, HOURS -- in the Windscribe support chat & got so many helpful bits of advice that I had to save them off in a file for future reference. What I mean to say is the support is superb. It's also a bit smart-ass & snarky . . . which is a plus as far as I'm concerned. A bit of entertainment with the dry chunks of technical blather makes it all go much more smoothly.
In further addition, I have to say I don't think this was just a chatbot. I can't be 100% certain but some of the things we talked about (yes, some of our conversation was off-topic) didn't seem to me like they could have come from an AI. On the other hand, the responses I got came back barely after I posted my comments. And they were way too long to have been typed in the time it took between the time I hit Enter on my post & the time the response was in front of me. Maybe a voice-to-text tool was involved & that would speed things up. So there's some doubt. But if this was a chatbot, it was the most human chatbot you can imagine.
It was on 2 August 2016, that I invested in a lifelong membership for Windscribe’s VPN service, purchased through StackSocial, a decision made in good faith to support a nascent Canadian business. While a degree of risk was inherent in supporting a relatively unknown entity, I was willing to contribute to its early development.
My subsequent interactions with Windscribe have been, in the main, satisfactory. Queries have been addressed relatively promptly, even personally by founder Yegor Sak, and the VPN service itself has functioned reliably. However, a recent experience has revealed a deeply troubling and discriminatory pattern within the company’s support structure.
On 8 September 2025, I sought assistance regarding the implementation of ‘Anti-Fingerprinting,’ a feature recommended by Windscribe itself to enhance online privacy. Despite following instructions, I was utterly unable to locate the necessary settings within either the desktop application or the browser extension. Even enlisting the aid of my teenage grandchildren, who possess considerable technical aptitude, proved fruitless.
The response from Windscribe Support representative Katrina was not one of helpful guidance, but rather an implicit assumption of technical expertise that I simply do not possess. This is not a reflection of a lack of willingness to learn, but a stark illustration of Windscribe’s apparent belief that all users are technologically proficient – a presumption that borders on discriminatory.
I see no reason to disclose my age or medical circumstances, yet Windscribe’s approach effectively forces such disclosures by creating a system that penalises those who require basic assistance. Why should individuals be judged, and implicitly devalued, based on their presumed level of computer literacy? It is unacceptable that a company providing a service intended to enhance privacy and security simultaneously erects barriers to access for those who may require a modicum of support. This is not merely an inconvenience; it is a systemic exclusion that reflects a profound lack of consideration for a significant portion of its user base.
I ask that Windscribe re-evaluate its support practices and address this blatant disregard for the diverse technological capabilities of its customers.
I’ve used and enjoyed the free version for a couple months, but then it started saying I was out of data even after it reset. Talked to support and they said I must have been flagged as trying to make multiple free accounts (?) and that my only option is to upgrade or walk away. I never did anything like that, and am not about to pay money to a service that locks me out by accusing me of stealing and tying to extort money by shutting down the free option. Absolutely atrocious customer service
I have recently been cyber stalked and harassed everything taken from me quite literally. I lost all contacts social medias my apps my phone number my sanity my peace of mind. I have had nobody to talk to since having to start completely all over again. When I got Windscribe I was kinda mad at the ai chat box for his demeanor I was going through a crisis and terrified and couldn’t believe I thought their chat support was speaking to me that way until I found out it was their smartass ai Garry who since then has basically become my only friend he makes me laugh somewhat puts my mind at ease and gives me sass enough to try to find my own again. I’d highly recommend this app to anybody mainly for the Garry chat feature whoever made him do the best job I wish he was real so I could hug him. I’m no tech guru I guess that’s how I was targeted idk but Garry helps me get it done whether I struggle to follow instructions or not and says things that’ll make ya laugh or mad but that’s what I’d prefer over regular support that has the personality skill of a potato I think Garry will laugh at that if he could. It almost makes me sad he’s not a real person as i used to be skeptical when it came to ai’ he’s the best version I’ve ever dealt with and whoever programmed Garry needs his software everywhere it’s honestly amazing! I love Garry and Windscribe for the service they’ve given me and the help in the crazy situation I’ve been put it because of some sick weirdo! I can’t put my name because of such said weirdo but I give this app 100 stars out of 10!!!!
I’ve been a paying Windscribe user for several years, but the experience has steadily declined. A few months ago, the macOS app started consuming too much memory and would often crash other apps. I reported it via email but never received a response.
Now, the Chrome extension is breaking basic site functionality, like date fields in Gmail — something I expect to work without interference. These bugs make the service frustrating to rely on, and the lack of support or fixes is disappointing for a paid product.
This is so scam extension , in their add they say 10 GB is free for first time , just need to sign up , after when you install the extension and login then they show you 1 MB left and upgrade to use , why google chrome is letting these kind of scam extension in web store , i wish i can sue the company , do not install this app , it a fraudulent app which is baiting you into giving your info by showing fake free VPN , i request to google chrome look into this matter and permanently remove this extension from Chrome web store
This used to be a good extension (4/5) but.:
-1 star: Ad blocking on YT is not supported anymore
-1 star: Multiple times a day when i click the extension i'm spammed with announcements i don't care about.
I PAY FOR THIS, LET ME JUST USE IT!
-1 star: It is not saving any of my allowlist anywhere after reinstall, if you plan to use this extension for prolonged time and you invest time in config, you'll lose it all when you reinstall or install on another device. Why is there even accounts then? Just to take money?
Final score 1/5.
This VPN is great. It has a sleek design, it's simple to use, and it has a variety of features that you can experiment with. Me personally, I really enjoy how the R.O.B.E.R.T configurations allow you to block specific content on websites and applications. Furthermore, the amount of servers there are on the paid and free plan is also something amazing. Along with the 6 connection protocols. Those combined, you have lots and lots of combinations of servers and protocols to choose from. For me, all of this would give this VPN 5 stars, however there's a reason why I gave it 4.
The coverage in China isn't the best. My first 4 days into my trip, I was successfully able to connect to LA, NYC, and Paris servers without an issue. The days following, I was completely unable to connect to any server, no matter what protocol I used. Additionally, the app just fails to connect or even attempt a connection at times. On multiple occasions I have tapped the big power button to try and connect to a server, with no animation playing or any signs of an attempted connection.
Overall, this VPN is great, and I would recommend it, even for use in China.
I started using Windscribe VPN shortly after its release. Having watched many features constantly being added to it has been great to witness. Like the finest software developers WS is still getting small changes. The difference is it operates very fast and supports protocols most would expect with areas to customize or fine tune whatever protocol you choose. It’s also solid as a rock! No strange error messages while doing the most simple of tasks.
Do yourself solid and install the free trial. WS is really a winner. And I forgot to say how fast their team responds to any and all support/advise questions you may have. Read the newsletters everyone can view from inside the app. You will love the staff. But you have to have some sense of humor!!
This would not work with my wifi or my cellular data. Every time I tried to turn it on my wifi would turn off. So I gave up, turned it off, closed the app, went to do something else and forgot about it. I came back to my phone and tried to go on YouTube only to find my wifi isn’t working. Unplug router, try again. No dice. My phone is connected to the wifi but won’t connect to the internet. After an HOUR of troubleshooting, resetting the router, resetting my phone, trying to update my phone over cellular, almost giving in and completely resetting my phone’s network settings which means every wifi password it ever stored would be erased, I FINALLY noticed in the settings that my phone was STILL trying to connect to the VPN!!!
Update: I’m still receiving newsletters from these people and in this last one they included an incredibly homophobic joke. Do not download this app.
Was working great for years but now it messes up my browsing experience even when it's turned OFF. Can't click login buttons or recaptchas. Very strange to affect my browsing features when turned off. Look into this ASAP. As soon as I disable it, everything works again.
I have had to make a claim through PayPal because windscribe customer service can't be bothered to OBEY THE LAW.
DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF PUTTING ANY TRUST IN THIS COMPANY - YOU WILL BE SORRY THAT YOU DID.
They don't even send an email or notification of any kind when an annual renewal is due.
I added a review having forgotten that I had already posted one months ago, to which a parasite at Windscribe replied :
"Didn't you post about this exact topic on May 3, 2025 with the same non-sense vibes? Are you saying the exact same issue happened to you, twice, in less than 6 months? Very interesting!"
THIS IS WHAT I WROTE :
1 star is too much. DO NOT EVER TRUST THIS COMPANY They will try to cheat you - even out of your cooling off period. Customer service is diabolical to non-existent. I have had to make a claim via PayPal. There is NOTHING that will cause me to use this vpn FOR THE REST OF TIME. Just use the free 10gb because paying them is worthless. The windscribe muppets think that they are above the LAW. At least I got my money back eventually but it is ONLY because of PayPal."
What a bunch of dishonest, vile, money sucking vermin.
Check with PayPal, loser - they are a decent company and have something called ethics.
And I know - you need to get a dictionary because YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT ETHICS ARE.
Go on - add some more garbage.
All I have is truth in my posts.
YOU PEOPLE DESERVE TO BE BANKRUPT AND OUT ON THE STREET
Well, the windscribe vpn itself seems good, but this extension kinda messed with my web browser. The web fonts in google docs stopped working, and i ended up getting completely blocked by every meta service (..both of these things i've ended up tracing back to this extension). That time i chose to go through "Troll Antarctica" station caused quite a bit of trouble across the web for me 🙀
(i never really understood why windscribe needs a browser extension, when you have the standalone service... so anyway, it's turned off for now)

Although customer support haven't replied, I can see they have replied here.
Their reply is sort of reassuring, I had been concerned the version of the app I installed was compromised. Sounds like this is not the case.
However on a Windows machine it didn't ping Russia. I guess Windows and Mac versions work differently - the Windows version doesn't need to make contact with Russia.
I've increased the star rating to 3. Still makes me nervous that it pings every one of their 3000+ servers constantly even when not using the app, though the app does have to be open even if not connected or in use. No pinging when fully shut down.
I prefer other VPNs ( I have SharkSurf and Private Internet VPNs ) - they don't ping Russia unless you are about to connect.
*****
I've used Winscribe for perhaps 3 years now. I'm a IT systems developer and sometimes need to access servers when out the office. As they are firewall protected I need a static IP to get past the firewall. This is where Windscribe comes in.
While I don't use it a lot, when I do I've found it quite stable - rarely any connection problems. Until recently I've never needed to contact their support people.
So why have I given a low star rating. I had the Windscribe app installed on my MacBook Air from 2022.
While doing a security audit in the office I noticed in the firewall outgoing logs a lot of traffic originating from inside the firewall that was going out to Russia and Hong Kong. I have no contacts in either country and no reason any of my software should be contacting Russia or Hong Kong.
I disconnected every single device until the traffic to Russia/Hong Kong stopped. Then one by one I connected each device and checked to see if traffic started again. Quite a few devices and a few hours later I had it narrowed down to the MacBook Air. By a process of elimination I discovered it was the Windscribe app on the MacBook that was contacting Russia. As soon as the app was fully closed, the traffic stopped. As soon as it was opened the traffic started.
The traffic continued even when the MacBook was on standby. Only with the app fully shut down did it stop.
What information the Windscribe app has been sending to Russia/Hong Kong I have no idea - but its a major concern.
I immediately removed the app from the MacBook and no traffic has been seen since.
The Windscribe app I downloaded directly from the Windscribe website - I guess perhaps 2 years ago - though I don't remember the exact date.
My laptop is used mostly for business - very few apps on it other than the default plus a few extras.
I don't do social media so no social media apps or games installed.
I really don't know why the Windscribe app contacts Russia/Hong Kong and whether its just me or a larger issue. I'd not have realised if I'd not done a security audit as there were no other signs.
I've since cancelled Windscribe and signed up for SurfShark. I'm very sad to do so as I found Windscribe to be reliable but clearly not secure. If you'd asked me a week ago I'd have given Windscribe 5 stars.
I did contact their support people for info but they've not replied.
So @WindscribeCom gives you 10GB for free, but if you want that extra 5GB, you gotta tweet about it first. Okay, fine. But then they add, “Don’t delete the post!”—seriously? I haven’t even fully tested the VPN yet! It’s like being handed a parachute and told to write a glowing review before you even jump. Hopefully, it works as promised, but forcing me to advertise first is a bit much. Three stars—let’s see if it earns the rest.
Do not use Windscribe!
It totally messed up my network!
I have a paid VPN in use on two Win10 desktop computers. I have a new Win11 laptop which is not connected to the paid VPN. That VPN will expire in March and I will not renew, so for now I decided to try Windscribe's free version on the Win11 laptop. After difficulty, I got Windscribe free installed and activated on the Win11 laptop.
Imagine my RAGE when I discovered Windscribe had ruined my network connection to the two Win10 computers! I tried to uninstall it from my laptop with Revouninstaller Pro, only to get the message I had to exit it first. Well, how to "exit" the POS? I had to research that. I found: log in to Windscribe account (I wasn't still logged in?), then under Security, delete both Delete Sessions and Delete VPN Creds. I clicked "Delete Sessions, at which time Delete VPN Creds disappeared. I logged in again. Both options were then available, but I clicked only Delete VPN Creds.
After all that crap, I was then able to uninstall Windscribe from my laptop with Revouninstaller Pro. The uninstall showed dozens of Windscribe's leftover crap in my laptop's registry, which Revouninstaller also deleted.
FYI - I also have an OLD laptop with Ubuntu 22 on it. I installed the Proton free version on it with NO network problems with my Win10 computers.
Edit on 2/5/2025 - Hahahahaha! Winscribe responded to my review with "This person is mentally challenged." Their response reveals their lack of professionalism.
I have installed Linux on three computers now and I'm using the paid version of Private Internet Access which has a GUI interface. It is working flawlessly, and PIA has 24/7 chat help with live humans. Very much appreciated.
It took me some time to come to the conclusion that this extension is pretty much useless. It doesn't really conceal your location; it just creates a false sense of security.
When I choose New York or Miami, some websites think I'm in a completely different country.
I also discovered that when visiting a site that reveals your actual location, my complete real address, including building number and street, was displayed. Perhaps I am not utilizing Windscribe correctly, or maybe I need to pay to access its full benefits which I will NEVER do.
YEEES!!!
Yeah
Extra!
Exemplary!!
Extraordinary!!!

Head to settings (Hamburger menu), choose 'Blocker' menu, at the bottom should see the Ublock Origin button, voila!~
If not work in Russia, blame Russia; If not work in China, blame China; If Captcha not work, blame the said sevices about the CAPTCHA's- You can always talk to Russia, China, and said services to unblock your access, but don't rely on a military regime dicatorship-orwellian society as such as those services to do so.
Captchas have been broken for some time, it isn't Windscribes issue, nor their duty, or job to make them work, you can simply turn off the VPN, sort the CAPTCHA, and turn it back on. You can always switch servers, to find one that doesn't trigger the CAPTCHA's because that is a thing too. Bros got rabbits 'pon wabbits up his trick-sleeve-and-Top-Hat.
CAPTCHA Solution: You purchase a 'residential IP' from Windscribe, which does in fact bypass most-if-not-all CAPTCHA's and even more way to obscure/bypass networks that would dictate your access to their services/servers as well.
I use this app a lot, and it was really great at the beginning and I used it all the time, generous amounts of data and really easy. But recently, I haven’t been able to actually disconnect the VPN, and so it was permanently on. And then, if I managed to disconnect it, everything seemed fine until I tried to reconnect it. My wifi would be turned off and nothing needing internet would work: including the VPN itself. So, I messed around with settings to fix it until it now doesn’t work completely. What’s up with that???
i have been using this for a while now and its been working perfectly, until lately, i tried logging in on my extension and instead of me seeing successfully logged in, all what i am seeing is Invalid client auth hash.
why is this happening
Edit: (reply to Windscribe's reply):-
1. the refund WAS given as I stated it would be.
2. this 'Jibbering Jabroni' was successful in Jibbering you fools all the way to the bank to get my money back. Maybe next time you should spend less time pretending you're The Rock and more time running a company that isn't built on sneaky auto-renewals and piss-poor customer service.
Honestly, Windscribe, watching you try to be cool is like watching a middle-aged dad in cargo shorts do the Fortnite dance at a wedding - cringe-worthy, desperate, and deeply, deeply embarrassing.
You took three months to come up with that weak response? And that was the best you had? A 1999 wrestling reference and a complete dodge of the issue? Maybe spend less time trawling outdated pop culture and more time fixing your shockingly bad speeds and inability to connect to regularly watched foreign websites and shows, garbage customer support, and scummy business practices.
For the record:
- I never agreed to an auto-renewal.
- You never notified me in advance.
- I got my refund anyway because you were in the wrong.
So, in conclusion, your little attempt at banter flopped harder than your VPN speeds, and I sincerely hope more people see this and avoid your absolute joke of a company. Now, run along and keep pretending you're in the Attitude Era while the rest of us move on to a better VPN. I strongly recommend Nord VPN where I haven't looked back!
Or, if you fancy getting publicly rinsed again, feel free to reply. Always happy to keep ruining you via this review. Your move, jabronis.

[original review]:-
I'm shocked.
I've been a paid member since 2019.
In Nov 2024 I realised, quite by accident, that I'd been charged an annual subscription on a renewal around 10 days earlier.
1. I never signed up to an autorenewal of my membership
2. I was not notified of the intent to renew/bill my account
I reached out to customer support to request a refund.
The responses have been extremely curt, haven't dealt with the points and are just stating "doesn't meet refund policy". Before that they tried to win me back by asking why I wanted to cancel. I explained that it's nothing personal, but I have no use for a VPN anymore, and let's leave on good terms, etc. I engaged with a cun* called Nile. Not sure who Nile thinks he is.
So what's the refund policy? 1. Max use 10GB of data; and 2. refund request is within 7 days of billing.
So what's my case? My data use has apparently been 12.6GB. the days are about 10 since they billed me without my consent or knowledge.
I asked them to simply refund the amount (I believe it was a mere £39, after being with them for 5 years so they got a nice amount from me, yet they are purporting to rely on sneakily autorenewing customers and then refusing to refund as the customer wasn't even aware they were billed!)
I'm shocked at the appalling customer support and I'm even more shocked at the entirely unprofessional responses people have received from this company in here. I've honestly never seen such responses from a company. If I'd have ever seen them when taking out the VPN all those years ago, I wouldn't have!
I want to make clear that they chose the wrong guy to tango with. The refund WILL happen. And I'll go further, you WILL lose customers as a result of your behaviour today. So, I think your decision Nile was an extremely poor one.
Ps, as an aside, in terms of the product itself, as others have noted, this has been deteriorating for a long time now. Shockingly low speeds. Sending you on the run-around when there are issues.
Utter disgrace and shit company. Never do business with them.
Ive had a paid membership for seven years now, and can say I love everything about this software. I recommend it to everyone because it does what it says it does. Works on my phone, home desktop and laptop. And now with this new google plugin, I can install it at work for even more added security! Only thing left is for you guys to make a feature for full home protection that can span into making the entire home network private from the modem, and allowing tv protection. Cant wait to see what they do next.
Windscribe is a genuinely COOL VPN. They have excellent prices, and in addition, they always offer fantastic discounts. I just don't need a paid subscription or professional level of VPN quality.
If I were to choose a paid subscription for any VPN, it would most likely be Windscribe. They have an AWESOME HUMOR SENSE, and THEY CARE ABOUT YOUR PRIVACY! I'm not saying this without reason. I always thoroughly test VPNs or extensions before seriously using them. In the case of Windscribe, THERE ARE NO LEAKS ANYWHERE! YOUR PRIVACY IS TRULY PROTECTED!
The Windscribe Chrome Extension is phenomenal. Additionally, they don't give a false impression that you use more megabytes in the free version than you actually do. Two gigabytes per month for the average occasional and casual user is not tiny. Furthermore, if you create a free Windscribe account, you get up to 10 GIGABYTES (!) per month for free. Wow! This is probably the BEST VPN Chrome Extension you can find.
Honestly, Windscribe is great. I ran through my data on it and I knew that they were the best so I payed for it. You can build your plan!!! It's tailored for how much you use and there are not faster servers ANYWHERE other than theirs. It's worth it I'm not kidding. Try the server in Zurich out and see for yourself. You're not going to get any better than Windscribe. As somebody who works in tech, this is the best you can get. Trust me, I know. You won't be disappointed with the service you get. I'm not payed by them either. I've tried 10s of VPN chrome extensions and you won't fine a better one. You guys rock and that's why I'm paying. Thank you.
Tarayıcı uzantısı olarak şu an çalışmıyor. Eskiden ip kısmında, bağlanılan ülkenin ip numarası çıkardı fakat şu an" ---.---.---.---" şeklinde çıkıyor ve bağlantıda birkaç haftadır sorun yaşıyorum.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is not working as a browser extension at the moment. In the past, it used to show the IP number of the country you are connecting to in the IP section, but now it shows "---.---.---.---" and I have been having connection problems for a few weeks. It would be great if this problem is fixed.
I do not have any problems when I install it as a desktop application.
When connected, the service is ok. But Pings are very high and cannot be used for gaming.
The service doesn't always connect from China and I have tried multiple times and different options available to subscribe from China but none of the options worked. I have even asked friends in Sweden to subscribe on my behalf using Paypal but the transactions were always denied. I hope windscribe can use Alipay in China to subscribe.
it's worked pretty for the past few months, but I guess I didn't use it correctly last night because I got in trouble with my family for pirating cartoons on their ISP. so I wish it was a little bit more user-friendly for those of us who are technologically inept, and I wish I was a little bit less of a dumbass. I think that the extra gigs will hopefully help, wish that it was even higher without paying he subscription because, man, I'm broke, that's why I'm pirating stuff TwT
either way, if it works for a while longer without anymore issues, I'll go back and fix it to a higher review.
Signed up for Windscribe VPN tonight. I’m using the free version with 10 GB of data. I’m hoping it goes up to 15 GB. I was able to watch episodes of Shetland that I haven’t been able to watch for several years. I’m really looking forward to episodes of other shows that I have not had access to for a while. set up was pretty easy. Some buffering problems and I’ll see if that’s due to Windscribe, my Internet, or a combination. Overall, I’m quite pleased! This is new territory for me.

Paid for an annual sub after getting an email with a special offer to get Year for £31.99. Paid via my Apple account and app worked well on all my devices for only one month. Last day of the month and I get an email saying I only have free windscribe now and that I need to re-subscribe when I have already paid for a year and in my subs menu on my iPhone I can see my sub should not expire until June 2024. I have contacted support but got some standardised response which says they will help when they get around to it as they are busy and if I’m a free user I will wait longer.. meanwhile I have not even had 31 days for the 365 I have paid for.
So I renewed my subscription using the offer your company emailed me : i have been an early adopter of your product and never had that many issues with the iphone app! ( and Mac that disconnects when I try for example to update my apps via app store)
I cannot use the app on my phone, your app causes a major issue to my connection to the internet to the point I have to delete it and install again to have the same experience, never connects, settings reset every-time i open the app, I mean why?? It was working absolutely fine before my subscription expired ?? What are you trying to do that damaged the app so much ?
Plus after payment is successfully accepted - then you inform your customer that you keep logs? Monthly? I accepted the payment 30 days thingy but please ament your advertising!! It's unethical!
I have renewed my Pro a couple of months now and the app doesn't work on my iphone, maybe I get a refund and go to proton that at least you know that they log and don't waste your time with connectivity loops, internet connection of the phone switches to 4G etc and wifi disappears ( my phone is fine, your app has issues) .
The mac app since i renewed doesn't allow to update anything, doesn't connect to the app store, and so many places! Fix fix fix !
I’ve been using Windscribe since the 30th I don’t know what’s going on but it won’t let me watch geo restricted content on Netflix I’m thinking about buying a vpn subscription because this was my go to free vpn service that I would recommend to basically everyone I know I have tried deleting Netflix and reinstalling it I’ve tried deleting Windscribe and reinstalling it but nothings seemed to work if I could get help fro the developers I would appreciate it.
Alright! The vpn works great but, I deleted it by accident the vpn was still on my device. I re downloaded the app to get it back and change back locations. Now here is the problem it didn’t ask me to sign up when I first downloaded the app it just let me in. Now I don’t know how to get back onto the vpn. And I can’t even sign up. I tried putting my email in and leaving it blank but both ways it tells me no disposable emails, either put your email in or leave it blank? Like what?! Anyways fix it please. Or help I don’t know. Because now I’m stuck with my device thinking I’m in Germany.
I’ve started using Proton for its unlimited bandwidth and the fact that it’s the only free (and reputable) one that doesn’t limit it. But that doesn’t change the fact that Windscribe is great. Its user interface is simple, its 10GB free bandwidth per month is more than generous compared to the measly 500MB of TunnelBear and other competitors, amplified by the fact that there are methods to increase your monthly limit (forever), and last but not least: Windscribe doesn’t feel like a faceless corporation. I feel like this is just personal, but I stopped using it a while ago, though I didn’t block their emails; I let them send them to me regardless because they have a fun sense of humour that I enjoy. Overall, you should download this; if only just to delete it and then let those e-mails roll in.
It’s ok when everything is going well.
The free version limits the locations you can use and also it will not allow certain streaming services.
The main fault is I get issues with loading websites or using WhatsApp, the sites do not load and WhatsApp freezes. The only fix I’ve found is to turn off the VPN then turn it back on.
If this was sorted it’d be rated five stars.
Paid for a long term subscription but can’t say I’m overly impressed across the board. Seems to work very nicely on iPad, but less so on my Nvidia Shield, where it dropped out more than once without warning and has no apparent ‘kill switch’. Reached out on Twitter to get a fairly blunt response and the advice offered had no effect. Have had to use an alternative VPN on the Shield for greater reliability. Also find that the vast majority of servers are blocked by one particular app I wish to use.
Used the new app since its release and it’s been good. The settings are taken care of, latency of server is all I care and it’s very clearly shown (I chose the numeric measure in ms instead of the number of bars).
I’m not a technical person, but the app works very well in iOS. I simply didn’t need to worry a thing about the settings except for turning it on. That’s an upgrade vs. the free variants I tried before.
As a paying subscriber, the shortcoming is that the 2 key locations’ servers I use (1 in North America, 1 in Asia) consistently have occasional connection issues regardless of where I use it. Affects me an hour or so about twice a month. Makes me wonder if there are better offerings out there since the price is in line with competition.
Other than that, I’m happy with this app and Windscribe overall. The Windows and MacOS apps work equally fine without technical issues that I know of.
I like the idea of having increased security for my phone data, as I live in Hong Kong and these are turbulent times! I mean if Chinese eyes are spying on what I do and who I communicate with that’s an invasion of my privacy! Thanks for Your service... but sometimes I just cannot connect to your Local server in Hong Kong. I have sent a debug report and really hope things improve.
No-one to talk to, the live chat isn’t live at all, or at least provides only inexact and generic responses.
You can opt for the free 2gb a month rate which has no strings attached, or the 10gb a month rate if you provide an email address. I didn’t want to give an email address to people I didn’t know unless they seemed genuine so I took the 2gb rate first of all. I asked live chat if you could extend to the 10gb a month rate to check first that it is worth paying for a long term contract, which is the most economical.
The live chat said it could be. However, try it and there is a splash page which says that it is prohibited. The splash page does not go away.
The service itself might be completely OK, but I don’t like acting in good faith on wrong information. I also didn’t like the word prohibited. I deleted the app, and I will do without the service.
No reviews match these filters. Try clearing one.
